UP Shadi Anudan Yojana
The UP Shadi Anudan Yojana is a social welfare scheme launched by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, India, to provide financial assistance to economically disadvantaged families for the marriage of their daughters. Aimed at supporting families below the poverty line (BPL), the scheme offers a one-time grant of ?51,000 to help with marriage expenses. The primary beneficiaries of the scheme include Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), minority communities, and economically weaker sections of society.
To be eligible, families must have an annual income not exceeding ?56,460 in rural areas and ?46,080 in urban areas. The application process is available online through the official UP government portal, making it easier for families to access. The UP Shadi Anudan Yojana is a vital step toward promoting gender equality and ensuring that financial hardships do not hinder the marriage prospects of girls in underprivileged families.
