The journey begins at Raithal Village (1800m) with a gentle 10 km ascent that takes around 2 to 3 days to reach the summit of Dayara Bugyal, standing at an impressive altitude of 3,657m (12,000ft) above sea level. This mesmerizing trek forms a loop or circuit that starts and ends at either Raithal or Barsu and can be completed within 4 days. The trail offers a diverse and enchanting experience as it winds through the charming Goat Village, dense oak and rhododendron forests, sparkling streams, and the pristine Barnala Lake. Along the way, you'll encounter picturesque campsites like Gui and Chilapada before finally arriving at the breathtakingly vast meadows of Dayara, a truly magical destination. The Dayara Bugyal Trek offers diverse weather conditions throughout the year, making it a year-round destination. During summer (May to June), the weather is pleasant with daytime temperatures between 10°C to 20°C and cooler nights around 0°C to 5°C. The monsoon season (July to September) brings moderate rainfall, with temperatures ranging between 15°C to 20°C, making the trails lush and green but slippery. In winter (December to February), snow transforms the meadows into a winter wonderland, with daytime temperatures from 0°C to 8°C, while nighttime temperatures can plummet to -5°C or lower. This cold period offers spectacular snow-covered landscapes, perfect for winter trekking. Visitors should pack warm clothing, including insulated jackets, gloves, and hats, especially for the winter season.
